Outbox - Messages Frozen and unable to delete

I have20 messages in my outbox that are stuck and 'm unable to resen of delete these messages. They should ahve all gone out as emails but I'm unable to find the issue causeing these messages to not send correctly? They are from multiple dates over the last month.
