A "standard" PC (PIII, 128MB) will do for most applications.

There are several factors affecting the quality of sound
- Number of simultanous calls
- voiceboard vs voice modem (Boards have the better quality)
- Operating system (Win2000 is better than Win98)
- Resources (CPU/Memory) of the PC
