Hi,
The problem seems to be that the voice file you recorded has not the required format.
Modems using the UnimodemV TelephonyService Provider (TSP) can only work with PCM 8000 Hz, 16 bit Mono wavefiles. This format is supported by most of the sound recorders available for the Windows operating system. For the Windows SndRec32 just go to File->Properties to change the format (or use our own sound recorder in MsgCenter).
The default beep has been recorded in the right format, hence you can hear it.
