So you are using the
ActiveSheet.PrintOut(From, To, Copies, Preview, ActivePrinter, PrintToFile, Collate, PrToFileName)
VBA function in Excel.
The problem seems to be that if you define a PrToFileName (IE "d:\temp\faxprt.apf") Windows will bypass the driver as it requires a manual action (the fax number), so the file is created using the standard Windows printer.
PS works obviously as it does not require any further user interaction.
Not quite sure how to overcome this. I tried to set the PrToFileName to "" which brings up the "Send fax to..." box. Here you may use the SendKey command to simulate the entry of the file name... It will work, but is not very nice ...
So the PS to TIF conversion seems to be the better alternative.
