Not sure about the R380, but to use the IR port on Win2000 you need to install a driver which can be downloaded from http://www.mawnet.com/download/IrCOMM2k-eng.zip

For the R380 try to get a modem driver for it from the Ericsson web site. If you get this one working MSCS will to.
