I was getting frustrated and grabing at straws. I was
about ready to throw in the towel and tell the customer he
had to live with recording each new street name (He would
have been very upset).

I finally sent the wife out to buy additional types of
modems. The one that finally worked with out any crashes
is the ZOOM pci modem with DSP. I have been playing with
it for 3 hours with out any crashes. The broadextent would
crash with the load and when you played several strings.

I want to thank you for your help.

I wonder why this fixed it. It looks like the same
microsoft codec is used. When it crashed it really crashed
fast ( blue screen less than 1 second)and then reset.

Oh the sound quality on the zoom seems to be a little
less.
