There must be something wrong with the way you enter the data into Excel.

It seems that the ex.ActiveWorkbook.Save is not executed because of the warning about "MERGING INTO ONE". Hence only after you confirm this warning message, the file is ready to be saved, but the script has alredy be finnished.
I am not sure why the warning comes, there you may need to check your VBS code.
