No, the WScript.Quit(value) can only return numbers.

Yes. Please have a look at
C:\INS\SampleScripts\Text Scripts\VBSTest
here one VBS cell writes something into a text file. After this just use the "Load from file" cell and read the string saved from the VBS cell.

Yes. Juste use the "Record Message" cell to record a message. Then you can use a "Play Message" to play back the recorded message. If the user is not happy with it you can loop back and s/he can re-record it.
