what's the problem with P1?

Actually I don't understand how your application connects to a SMSC and sends msg to it, through the Fixed line (the PSTN). As I know, FSMSCs are used for such a use.

I'm not familiar with UCP or TAP. Are they protocols for transferring msg on PSTN?
would you please guide me to a doc or something else... to understand what's going on?

I'd really appreciate getting your answer to my question. It would be a giant help. :)
