Sorry for the late reply, but I needed to be able to reproduce this behavior.
It seems indeed that there was an issue with SMS-it 3.8.0 when sending through the command line.
We fixed this now and you may download the updated release (3.8.1) from www.mawnet.com/sms-it.zip

Sorry for the troubles caused.
