Thank you for your message.
Do you see your phone listed in SMS-it under
"System->Settings->The mobile phone is connected as:" ?

If not, then your mobile phone driver did not register itself as dial up modem. Please refer to http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/nss/driversNplugins.asp and make sure to get the right Motorola Mobile Phone USB Drivers (for Windows®).
Otherwise please check with your mobile phone supplier directly.
