sms-it does not hold good connection with phone

hi there,

i've been using sms-it with my nokia 8250 via infra red port for some time now.

it performs okay initially but cannot sustain a connection with the phone.

I've tried to send 100 messages in a queue. After 80+ messages i suddenly get "cannot initialize com port" error even relaunching the program does not fix the problem

only hard boot fixes the problem

the ir port is still working fine because when i remove and reactivate my phone it registers correctly

how can i get sms-it to maintain a long term connection with the ir port?
