Contact Lists (Group)

I have about 350 cust. (and growing) whom needs to be sent same SMS once a while. Filling in the Address Book was a snap using the import/export facility. However, the Contact Lists is not a snappy at all. After creating List Name and by click&drag all numbers (one by one) from All Contacts to Current Members, only to find out that the effort was fruitless since after pressing the OK button the program quits on me and the just made List Name was not there as well.
I tried split the address list into several Contact Lists, still did not work; as soon as you create the second Contact List, the members of the first Contact List became blank and so on.
Question:
*How can I copy all names from All Contacts to Current Members in one go?
*How to make a proper Contact Lists without going insane?
