I have followed your advice. The attempt to connect to com 4 via hyperterminal failed.
I set the direct link as advised and initiated the modem connection via the IR connection [ out of interest SMS-It does not recognise the phone when the IR connection is activated, it has to be Modem via IR - is correct?] any way, to test if the connection was working i attempted to import the address book and the IR link indicated that a connection was in place, as did the phone.HOWEVER, this returned a " no compatable phone ..." message. I then attempted to resend a message and this failed with the following reason "SMS service does not accept message =>stand modem over IR link #2".
Some connectivity is occuring as i was able to import the contents of the phones INBOX.
I am even more confused.
