Sending, then Failed

I tried to send a test message to my phone (Nextel) but after sending my message I keep getting a 'Failed' error message. Can anyone help? I just bought the program. Can anyone tell me what to put the settings at? I connect to the Internet trough cable modem. Thanks in advance.
