VBS=Visual Basic Script
DDE=Dynamic Data Exchange

With DDE WhoCalls needs to have the other application (IE EXCEL) open to be able to send the values. VBS transfers the data in the background, hence you only need to have WhoCalls open. VBS is also much more powerful as you can access all functions of the remote application as if you were using the apllication itself.
The syntax is exactly the normal VBS (Visual Basic Script) syntax except that the variables are replaced before the execution of the script.
