Access Violation Error when starting msgcenter.exe

I get tn error dialog when opening the Message Center app, msgcenter.exe ...

Access violation at address 0040BEE8 in module 'MsgCenter.exe'. Read of address 000002F8

After clicking the OK button, message center loads. I haven't yet tried using any of the functionality just yet.

I'm on Windows 2000, SP2. I installed the software logged on as a member of the Administrator's group.

Any ideas?
