Send DTMF cell

I can't seem to get the Send DTMF cell (new with v5.1) to send a string. I want to send
Warning...could NOT substitute #,,$RV[@CID],,#
that is, some intro tones (3 # tones)
the callerID string as tones (10 tones)
then the closing tones (3 more # tones)

Problem is, at the $RV[@CID] point, Message Server only sends 2 DTMF tones, and not the 10 digit telephone number.

Any help?
