The documentation states that the Wavecom supports GSM, but just try one of the UCP2 character sets too.
Otherwise open Hyperterminal and connect it to the COM port your mobile phone is attached to. Then enter
AT+CSCS=?
followed by ENTER.
The handset should return you the supported character set.
Also please mail us the c:\ins\session.log file, ev. we may see any other problems.
