Our lates release (7.4.1), available now from www.mawnet.com/ins.zip allows you now to pass string values by using environment variables.

To return strings from a VBS, you may set an environment variable inside the VBS as follows:
Set WSHShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
WSHShell.Environment.item("MyVariable") = "Hello world"
and then use $RV[@ENVVAR{MyVariable}] to access this variable inside the INS script.
