INS message sending

Hi
Currently I am reviewing software applications/components for integration
into a custom system for a client. I will be writing some "software glue" to
tie individual applications/components together.

As part of my research, I have to find an application/component or
applications/components that allow a laptop to send a message to an
individual or individuals in the real world. My client wants to be as sure
as possible he will get a message and thus needs as many ways as possible
for the system to send a message. The system must be versatile enough to be
configured for almost any type of communication.

The client will most likely have a cell phone but in some cases (i.e. a poor
coverage area) a wire phone line will be the only way to contact him. The
client will also have a Blackberry device.

The laptop where the message will originate will most likely have at least
an internal or external modem. The laptop may contain a PCMCIA cellular
card.

A network connection (wired or wireless) cannot be guaranteed so the
application/component must be able to send a message via a phone line.
However, if the PCMCIA card or a network connection is available, then
another path can be used.

The following is a list of communication paths that I would like the
software to be able to handle:
1. SMS via internet.
2. SMS via modem.
3. SMS via cell phone.
4. E-mail via internet.
5. E-mail via modem.
6. Voice message via modem.
7. Pager notification via modem.
8. Pager notification via internet.

There may be other paths but the above list is a good start.

INS falls into the category of communications software and thus I have been
reviewing the online pages on its capabilities. I like all the functionality
of the Integrated Notification System. Since this is a custom integration of
multiple applications, I definitely need the capability of the Send Message
(SendMsg.exe) utility.

I would appreciate it if you could forward any additional information on INS
to me or at least point me in the right direction for reviewing it. I would
especially like to be able to read the user's manual. Also, any
documentation on the Send Message (SendMsg.exe) utility and other custom
interfacing utilities would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if you could forward to me the U.S. pricing for the Integrated
Notification System - Single line, I would appreciate it. We would buy one
license initially with the potential to buy 10 or more additional licenses
in the future.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Keith
