We can only advise about the modems we used ourselves and got them to work. But this is just a subset of all the modems out there that will work if you have the right driver.
My personal preference is still the 3COM U.S.Robotics 56K Message Modem. But as I stated in a previous post it does does not support Caller ID with its own driver (U.S.Robotics 56K Message) but detects CallerID with the U.S.Robotics 56K Voice EXT driver.
